It is a regimen that is absolutely not recommended for pregnant and lactating women. Performing it on children under the age of 12 would also be prohibited without the advice of a doctor.
Individuals suffering from renal insufficiency should preferably avoid all foods that would increase magnesium levels. Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to many health problems such as indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc.
