Other hormones are involved in the metabolism of this mineral salt, namely cortisol, catecholamines or vasopressin, which is an antidiuretic hormone.

In the specific case of France, it is estimated that the recommended daily doses are well in excess of the body’s needs. Furthermore, no official figures have been produced on the subject. However, given the importance of this mineral, especially for cardiovascular health, it is advisable to stick to the 3,500 mg/day intake for this element. In addition, the level of potassium, called kalemia, must be balanced to ensure proper functioning of the muscles, but also of the heart and kidneys.
